Our Mission
We feed our neighbors in need. We serve everyone, every time they ask for help. God's Pantry is a place where no one is turned away.
Our Vision
Is to expand our service as we go forward. May "GOD" continue to allow us to be a blessing to others as we humbly carry out "His" will.
Our Goals
To be able to serve everyone who says "I am hungry." Neighbors helping neighbors in need.
What is "God's" Pantry? A Different Approach to Hunger! Then Til Now
In October 2002, a small group gathered at Messiah Lutheran Church. The purpose was to provide food for those in the community that were in need. Three hundred people received help by the end of the year. At that time families would receive a box that would give them three days of meals every two weeks.
From that beginning in 2002, God’s Pantry has grown each year. For the year 2008, God’s Pantry provided a box of food to more than 61,000 people in need. Those boxes contained food for 15 meals for one week. Distribution took place through six (6) pantries located in three counties in our community. For the year 2009, God's Pantry used 395 tons of food to serve more than 72,000 people (19,900+ families were served) and has grown to have ten (10) pantries in the three counties, plus two (2) Emergency Food Stations in Greenville.
In 2010 God's Pantry continues to grow and relocated administrative and warehouse operations from the Fountain Inn (Log Shoals Rd.) facility to their new Operations Center and Warehouse at The Trinity Building on Old Stage Road in Simpsonville SC. God's Pantry has been fortunate during the summer to have been able to distribute fresh peaches, corn, potatoes and onions. And, now with freezers, they can also distribute frozen meats, vegetables, breads, etc.!
It is through the support of our member churches and the generous donations from businesses and individuals in our communities that make this all possible. We ask nothing in return for this service provided except that praise and glory be given to Him who has made all this possible.
